BT has tapped into a rich source of some of the sharpest minds in the web development arena. Our office in Bangalore currently employs some 50 or so IT experts, recruited from India’s finest technology institutes. But we have room for more…
The World Economic Forum in September 2007 held in Dalian, China, presented the perfect opportunity for BT to officially announce the opening of our new Technology and Service Centre in this city.
The centre, located in Dalian Software Park building number 16, will be used for both software development and offer services to our customers in China and other parts of Asia. BT has announced a minimum $70 million investment in China over the next few years to build up both our Dalian office and a new R&D Centre in Shanghai.
Dalian was a natural choice for the Technology and Service Centre because it had the two critical ingredients we needed in China: a pool of top software talent, and Asian language capabilities. About half the office is made up of BT Design staff and with an initial staff of 30, we are focused on providing rapid development via open source platforms for all parts of BT.
